Erika Nolan - Executive Director, The Sovereign Society

Erika Nolan began her career in the health care industry as a public relations and marketing executive for a US$3 billion, public traded company. She acted as the company spokesperson, directed all marketing strategies and oversaw the integration of new company acquisitions. Ms. Nolan directed a change leadership initiative for Integrated Health Services to improve overall company operations and increase U.S. market share. In 1998, she was recruited to became the Executive Director for The Sovereign Society, an offshore, asset protection and international finance organization. She has brought with her an extensive knowledge of marketing and operational expertise, which has offered a high record of success. Ms. Nolan travels extensively throughout Europe, the Caribbean and Central America.

Robert E. Bauman, JD - Legal Counsel, The Sovereign Society

Mr. Bauman is a former Member of the United States House of Representatives from Maryland, (1973-1981). He is also a former federal official and state legislator; Member, Washington, DC Bar; Graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center (1964) and the School of Foreign Service (1959), Washington, DC. He is editor, The Sovereign Society Offshore A-Letter; and was author or co-author of Forfeiting Our Property Rights, The Cato Institute, (1995) (with Hon. Henry Hyde); The Offshore Money Manual 2000, Sovereign Society, (1999); The Oxford Club Wealth Protection Series, (1995-00); editor of Forbidden Knowledge, (Sovereign Society, 1999), author of The Complete Guide to Offshore Residency, Dual Citizenship and Second Passports, Sovereign Society, (2000); with articles and reviews for The Cato Institute and in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The Baltimore Sun, The Wall Street Journal, and National Review.

Eric N. Roseman - Investment Director, The Sovereign Society

Eric Roseman has covered the global markets for 15 years, as both a money manager and investment editor. He recently became the Investment Director for the Sovereign Society. Eric is editor and founder (since 1992) of Global Mutual Fund Investor (GMFI), a monthly newsletter advisory focusing on the world's best-managed offshore funds. Eric also serves as editor for The Sovereign Society's Commodity Trend Alert, an investment alert focusing on commodity based securities. Eric's talents include blending a dozen or more alternative investment funds to produce consistent returns to traditional asset classes and making commodity- based recommendations with huge upside and limited downside. Eric also continues to serve as President of Montreal-based E.N.R. Asset Management, Inc.,specializing in alternative portfolio management. E.N.R.'s strategies are highly diversified and include non-traditional hedge fund managers that trade global markets and asset classes long and short. Eric advises managed accounts, funds and partnerships that invest with thetop names in the industry, including Global Asset Management (GAM), Momentum, AHL-ED&F Man, Tudor Jones, Medallion, Caxton and Trout Trading.

Mark Nestmann, L.L.M.- Wealth Preservation and International Tax Planning

Mark Nestmann is a journalist with more than 20 years of investigative experience and currently edits the Sovereign Society’s monthly members-only newsletter, The Sovereign Individual. He has also authored over a dozen books and many additional reports on wealth preservation, international tax planning and offshore investing. Mark serves as president of his own international tax-consulting firm, The Nestmann Group, Ltd. The Nestmann Group provides wealth preservation and international tax planning services from around the globe. Mark is an Associate Member of the American Bar Association (member of subcommittee on Foreign Activities of U.S. Taxpayers, Committee on Taxation) and member of the Society of Professional Journalists. In 2005, he was awarded a Masters of Laws (LL.M) degree in international tax law at the Vienna (Austria) University of Economics and Business Administration.

Elvira Amankwa - Conference Director

Elvira Amankwa is the Conference Director for The Sovereign Society, based in Delray Beach, Florida. Elvira is an experienced public relations and marketing professional and has held several senior management positions with international and U.S. corporations, mainly in the commercial real estate and luxury hotel industries. As a global citizen, she has traveled all over the globe and is now helping our members to explore the world of The Sovereign Society conferences in their quest for building and securing personal wealth the Sovereign way.

Glenn Anderson

Glenn AndersonGlenn Anderson is the Senior Vice President of EFG Investment Bank AB in Stockholm, Sweden. Before his appointment to this position in 1994, he served in various capacities in the financial industry, such as Director of a private offshore hedge fund, Director/Trading Manager of proprietary futures and options at Den Norske Creditbank, and Director of Proprietary Trading and Hedging at Boliden AB. He was also Director/Fund Manager of Conti Commodity Services in Hamburg, Germany. With more than three decades of experience, Glenn brings extensive knowledge as a successful fund manager and trader to the table. He is fluent in English, German, Swedish and French and holds a Masters Degree in Agriculture with Majors in Finance, Economics, Investment Analysis and Environmental Sciences from The Swedish University in Uppsala, Sweden.

Marc-André Sola - Managing Director, NMG International Financial Services Ltd.

Mr. Sola holds a Master in Law from the University of Zürich, Switzerland and since 2000, he is Managing Partner with NMG International Financial Services Ltd. Prior to his current engagement, Mr. Sola held various senior positions in the financial industry, such as CEO of an international U.S. registered investment advisory firm in Switzerland. During his carrier, Mr. Sola has advised clients from all over the world and he has a vast experience in finding or tailoring solutions in banking and insurance. NMG International Financial Services Ltd., Switzerland is a subsidiary of the world-wide NMG Group, incorporated in Singapore in 1991 and specializes in insurance and financial consulting, pension administration and in tailoring investment solutions for private clients.

Michael Chatzky - Attorney-at-Law, Chatzky and Associates

Mr. Chatzky is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he majored in Accounting. He subsequently received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law. Mr. Chatzky is an attorney and principal of Chatzky and Associates in California. He is presently the managing attorney of the San Diego office of Chatzky and Associates, a Law Corporation. He practices law in the fields of foreign and domestic trusts, corporate structures, business ventures, and federal and international taxation and wealth protection, with an emphasis on estate planning, business planning, and asset protection planning. For over 33 years, Mr. Chatzky has assisted clients in establishing a wide variety of wealth preservation structures, many of which contain valuable tax savings features. He has authored numerous articles and lectured extensively at seminars and on radio and television on the use of foreign trusts and other entities as wealth protection vehicles. He is a highly sought after speaker at wealth protection seminars, known for his detailed knowledge and uncanny ability to quote page and paragraph on any current tax law in question. Mr. Chatzky has also engaged in extensive work in non-profit corporations and charitable foundations. He is a contributor to The Oxford Club’s Wealth Protection Program.

Richard Mark Checkan - Vice President, Asset Strategies International, Inc.

checkanRich Checkan graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army as an Infantry Officer. He served tours of duty at Fort Benning, Georgia, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and on the Demilitarized Zone in the Republic of South Korea. He held various leadership and staff positions at every level from platoon through battalion-sized organizations. He left military service in 1993 at the rank of Captain. After a brief stint of direct sales in Macon and Atlanta, Georgia with telecommunications and multinational service corporations, Rich joined ASI (then, International Financial Consultants, Inc.) in the spring of 1996. Rich has experience in every facet of ASI's operations, and is ready to service all of your foreign exchange and precious metals needs. Rich is in his 10th year with ASI.

Thomas Fischer - Head of International Client Relations, Jyske Bank Private Banking

Thomas Fischer is Head of International Client Relations, Jyske Bank Private Banking, Copenhagen. He has worked for almost 25 years in the financial sector. He began his career as a foreign exchange dealer with a Danish bank before joining Marshall Ltd in London as a foreign exchange broker. Mr. Fischer moved to Germany in 1988 and spent 10 years with Bierbaum/Intercapital GmbH as a foreign exchange broker and was promoted to head of the company's international foreign exchange spot section in 1996. During his time in Germany he studied for and successfully completed an MBA with focus on the external environment and corporate finance. Thomas Fischer returned to Denmark in 1998 taking up a senior position in Intercapital's Copenhagen branch. He joined Jyske Bank Private Banking in September 2000 as a key account manager servicing German speaking clients. Mr. Fischer was promoted in April 2001 to his present position as Head of International Client Relations.


Dr. Johannes Gasser

Dr. Johannes Gasser, LLM is a partner of the law offices of Dr. Batliner & Dr. Gasser, one of the largest law firms in Liechtenstein exclusively providing forensic services to international clients before courts of law and authorities. The law office celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and comprises of 9 lawyers. His firm's expertise extends to litigation in all areas, focusing on dispute resolution involving trusts and foundations, and also representing defendants suspected of business crimes, fraud victims and defrauded corporations. The firm advises banks, offshore services companies and financial investors in protecting themselves from money-laundering and other violations of the law. The firm has been very successful in the defense of unfounded legal assistance requests in criminal matters involving banking assets in Liechtenstein. Johannes is admitted to practice law in both in Liechtenstein and Austria. He specializes in freezing assets in Liechtenstein banks, including proceeds of crime, and 'piercing the veil' of Liechtenstein corporations. Johannes is the author of Criminal Responsibility of Managers for Employees Laundering Money, Ascertaining Beneficiary Rights in a Liechtenstein Family Foundation, Liechtenstein International Insolvency Law, Choice of Law Clauses in International Contracts and New Developments on Liechtenstein Trusts. He contributed chapters to the firm's book on Litigation and Arbitration in Liechtenstein. Johannes was appointed a member of the new Judiciary Election Commission of Liechtenstein by the prince and head of state in 2004.

Andrew Griebl

Andrew Griebl joined Euram Bank in February 2006, advising clients in the US, Latin America and Asia. Between 2001 and 2002, Andrew managed Anglo Irish Bank (Austria)’s North American Private Client Department and, thereafter, acted as investment counsel to high net worth U.S., U.K. and Latin American families and their advisors. From 1998 to 2001, he worked for Erste Bank’s Investment Banking Division in Vienna, Austria, where he acted as the firm’s advisor in the Vienna Stock Exchange Building, Siemens Public Acoustic Systems, Elin Industrial Power Unit, ÖKISTA Travel and the Austrian Security Printing Company. In 1995, Andrew joined RZB-Austria in New York as Head of Central & Eastern European Sales and Trading. He began his professional career within Merrill Lynch & Co.’s New York City Institutional Sales Department in 1992. His responsibilities included the structuring and implementation of corporate and foreign government investment banking mandates.

Larry C. Grossman

Larry C. Grossman, CFP, CIMA is the Managing Director of Sovereign International Asset Management, Inc. Larry graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Eckerd College. He went on to acquire his Certified Financial Planning designation from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. Larry has also completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation awarded in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business. Larry specializes in domestic and international financial planning and investment management. With 20 years of experience in the business, Larry has a number of unique accomplishments. He is the editor of a new investment service, Power Trend Investor. In addition, he is the author of a new manual on how to move your 401(k) or IRA offshore for greater protection and greater gains.

Donald Hosmer

Donald Hosmer has been CEO and President of Royale Energy, Inc. since 1995. He has successfully directed the funding of more than 200 oil and natural gas wells throughout the major geologic basins in the United States. Under his leadership, Royale became the largest independent natural gas producer that explores, develops, produces and markets natural gas in California. In September 2004, Royale Energy was ranked 8th for highest return on stockholders' equality for all publicly traded oil and gas companies. In 2006, Fortune Small Business ranked Royale Energy on its list of the 100-fastest growing small companies in America. Donald is also a member of the Speakers Bureau of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPPA) and is registered as the oil and gas industry expert on Business Wire’s ExpertSource service.

Robert Kroesen

Robert Kroesen was born in Panama of Dutch parents. As expats in Panama, Robert's parents made sure to keep him close to Holland by teaching him the language, keeping a Dutch home and sending him to Holland every year for three months. He also lived for many years in the United States, where he obtained his marketing degree and worked as a consultant with a leading marketing research firm. Upon his return to Panama, Robert has advised companies and many Panama law firms on their global marketing and public relations strategies for several years. He also became involved in one of the largest reforestation projects in Panama were he currently is Managing Director. His company, United Nature, manages over 7,500 acres of property. Apart from establishing a very successful business by exporting plantation teak, United Nature protects over 2000 acres of primary tropical forest, making this one of the most environmentally friendly business alternative available. Also, together with some of the most important legal
firms and consultants around the world, Robert is advising individuals on how to maximize their forestry returns with proper management and how to take advantage of the visa/residency applications through a forestry investment in Panama.

Wendell E. Lawrence - Partner, Henley & Partners

LawrenceWendell E. Lawrence, a Partner at Henley & Partners' main Caribbean office
in St. Kitts, is dealing specifically with the citizenship-by-investment
programs in St. Kitts & Nevis and in the Commonwealth of Dominica. An
experienced financial consultant who has for many years held senior
positions in the Government of St. Kitts & Nevis before joining Henley &
Partners, he continues to be a member of the board of the Eastern Caribbean
Central Bank.

Horacio Marquez

Horacio Marquez is Editor of the Money Map Report and the Money Map VIP Trader, as well as an Oxford Club Investment Advisory Panelist, and a partner in Qinhan Capital Management – a US hedge fund operating out of Shanghai. A native Argentinean, Horacio has more than 20 years of experience in Latin American and global finance activities on Wall Street, including working with major US fund management companies. Previous positions include serving as Head of Emerging Markets Research for Merrill Lynch Asset Management's fixed-income funds, Director of Economic and Financial Research - Latin America for Swiss Bank, and Director of Credit and Research for ADP Capital Management. In these capacities, while managing billions of dollars, he correctly foresaw and took very large advantage of the Argentine fiscal crisis of 1994, the Mexican maxi-devaluation later that year, the Asian crisis of 1997, and the Russian crisis of 1998. Marquez also got out of Enron, WorldCom and many others without losses well before they defaulted, and foresaw the ensuing US recession and recovery. Additionally, he was Director of Trading at Latin American Financial Services Corp., for which he generated an astonishing 68% total return on his portfolio in less than two years. Horacio also ran his own $300 million venture capital firm, where he honed the art of seeking out and negotiating profitable businesses deals. Marquez holds an M.S. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie-Mellon's Graduate School of Industrial Administration. Rainelda Mata-Kelly

Rainelda Mata-Kelly practices commercial and maritime law at the law offices of Rainelda Mata-Kelly. In 1982, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Law and Political Science at Santa Maria La Antigua University in Panama. She then went on to Cornell University Law School and obtained a Masters of Law, specializing in Commercial and Maritime Law. Upon graduation, she became the founder, resident lawyer and manager of the London office of a Panamanian law firm. In 1991, she became a Miami correspondent for La Prensa, the Panamanian newspaper and then went on to be the Executive Editor of La Prensa. For 10 years, Rainelda was an External Legal Advisor to the ‘Asociacion de Usuarios de la Zona Libre de Colon’ (Colon Free Trade Zone Merchants Association), member of the Editorial Board of La Prensa and External Executive Director and Legal Advisor to INTERED (Internet Service Providers' Association). Since 1989, she has also owned her own private practice in the areas of Corporations, Immigration, Commercial, Real Estate and Shipping Law of Panama.

David Melnik

David Melnik, Queen’s Counsel of Toronto, managed his own law firm from 1962 until 1976, when he became President and Chief Executive Officer of Vanguard Trust of Canada Limited. From 1978 to 1985, he served as policy advisor to Frank Miller, who later became the Premier of Ontario. He has been an instructor in the Masters of Business program at the business schools of both the University of Toronto and York University. David has an extensive practice with both businesses and individuals, advising on global, economic, legal, financial and government matters. He is also a director of a number of Canadian and U.S. corporations and, until recently, was a director of a Swiss bank. He is a member of The Oxford Club’s Board of Governors and most recently became Director of the Wealth Protection Program for the Canadian chapters. David Newman

David Newman is the Membership Director for The Sovereign Society. David is a former managing partner of Choice Investments in Houston, Texas, and was a financial advisor for American Express. In addition, David has served as the Director of Sales & Development for several major publishing companies in the southeastern United States. He has more than 20 years of experience helping investors achieve their long-term asset protection and investment goals. Now he is dedicated to helping members make the most of all that The Sovereign Society has to offer.

Ramses Owens

International attorney-at-law at Mossack Fonseca & Co., Republic of Panama and head of Trust Operations for Mossfon Trust Corporation, Ramses Owens is a leader in advising clients on Panamanian companies, trusts and foundations as well as a contributor to several offshore magazines, including Offshore Investment, Offshore Red, Trust and Trustees and Offshore Outlook. Ramses graduated Summa Cum Laude, first in his class, from University of Panama’s School of Law in 1992. He maintains membership in several associations, including the Panama Bar Association, International Lawyers Association of Panama, International Bar Association, International Tax Planning Association and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Derek Sambrook

Derek Sambrook has been a trust and estate practitioner in Africa, America, Europe (including the Channel Islands) and the Caribbean (including the Cayman Islands) during a career that spans more than 40 years. In 1973, he graduated from the Institute of Bankers in South Africa, which was founded in 1904, and holds the institute’s diploma in trust and executor law, accounting and administration. He was made a Fellow of the institute in 1996. In 1993, he became a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in the United Kingdom. He has lived in Panama since 1996 where he is a partner and the Managing Director of Trust Services, S.A., a licensed trust company established over 25 years ago. Derek was appointed by the British government (1989-1992) as the first Bank, Trust Company and Insurance Regulator in the Turks & Caicos Islands, British West Indies, where he was tasked with establishing and reviewing the financial services legislation. Subsequently, he drafted trust and insurance laws, banking and insurance regulations. During his tenure he was also a Member of the Latin American and Caribbean Banking Commission. Derek’s articles appear regularly in professional publications, while his two newsletters, Offshore Pilot Quarterly and Letter from Panama, are also widely read. He has been a contributing editor for several years of the British journal, Offshore Investment.com, in which his column, Latin Letter, appears. The journal is more than 20 years old and is read in more than 150 countries.

Frank Trotter

Frank Trotter is president of EverBank Direct. A founding partner of EverBank in 1998, he has acquired more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry. Frank has served as senior vice president and managing director of Mercantile Bank Capital Markets and as director of the International Markets Division of Mark Twain Bank, where he created the WorldCurrency™ family of deposits and directed the global launch of eCash™. He is a widely quoted speaker on financial topics, especially currency markets. Publications focusing on WorldCurrency™ or recently quoting Mr. Trotter include The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News and World Report, CBS MarketWatch, USA Today, CNNfn, and the Chicago Tribune, among others. Frank graduated from St. Olaf College and holds an MBA in Finance and International Finance from Washington University.

Robert Vrijhof - Senior Partner, Weber, Hartmann, Vrijhof & Partners Ltd.

Mr. Vrijhof, Senior Partner of Weber, Hartmann, Vrijhof & Partners in Zurich, Switzerland, has recently joined the Sovereign Society’s Board of Advisors. Mr. Vrijhof began his career in 1978 with the Union Bank of Switzerland, where he worked his way through the international securities trading department. Later, with Credit Suisse, he held the senior position as manager of the Foreign Stock Exchange trading section. In 1987, he accepted an offer by Foreign Commerce Bank as portfolio manager. His knowledge of this area soon led to the position of Vice President and head of the portfolio management group at Focobank. In 1991, he along with Adrian Hartmann and Hans Weber formed Weber, Hartmann, Vrijhof & Partners, Ltd., a Swiss portfolio management service.
